The XIV Inter-American Congress of Philosophy was held in August 1999 at the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, in conjunction with the X Congreso Nacional de Filosofía in México. The proceedings were published in 2002 by BUAP's Centro de Estudios de Ge?nero. This volume will be digitized and preserved by the Philosophy Documentation Center.

The XIV Congreso Interamericano de Filosofía was sponsored by the Asociación Filosófica de México (AFM), the Sociedad Interamericana de Filosofía, and the Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la BUAP. The theme of the Congress was "Saber, Virtud y Pluralismo".
